Aren't we always looking for good ways to stretch our time during the day? Combining skills is certainly one excellent approach.

Try out this Think-a-Verb! worksheet that combines verb choice with comprehension.




I often use this as a small group activity suggesting that the students brainstorm to identify the most unique verbs they can think of to fit each sentence. Then, we go over the sentences together and a group that comes up with a unique verb (no other group has used the same verb for that sentence) will win a point. Students love contests!
